Mizuko Tokunaga Sophia University Faculty of Integrated Human Science Professor at the Department of Nursing

Nursing school graduation attached to Ureshino Hospital national for 1,969 years. After the graduation, we engage in medical service in Zaire after domestic hospital duty. We graduate from King Belgian Leopold memory tropical zone medical school in 1976 and engage in drought damage people support in Ethiopia. We establish meeting of NGO Africa for the next 1,991 years and start medical service in Central African Republic. We win Florence Nightingale badge in 2005. Via Nagasaki University, Seibo College, we take office as Sophia University Faculty of Integrated Human Science Professor at the Department of Nursing from April, 2011.

Will image for Africa be only wild animal and civil war, poverty, starvation, AIDS, child soldier?
In addition, Japan just needs African resources, and is there nothing to learn from Africa?
Thing which we Japanese lost in the economic richness is power that but can live in environment where "primitive power" is severe.
I have been continuing medical care as NGO member for many years in Africa.
The living are strongly in Africa vigorously while rich culture is poor.

We think that there is a lot of learning from far-off Africa.
